UMG Sweden head Per Sundin as saying, “In five months from the launch, Spotify became our largest digital source of income and so passed by iTunes. It’s a fantastic development, explained by the fact that Spotify really has exploded.”

Is it me, or, at least in the short-term, is Spotify a way for large record companies to bleed money from VCs for as long as it lasts? And if Spotify does (hopefully) stay afloat, they get paid twice.

Yet at the same time Swedish artists are complaining they’re getting almost no money from Spotify play.

One would assume that at some point someone figures out that they’ve got a bad deal.
