On Thursday I finally get a holiday – a few days in Paris, a week in Crete, and a few days in Copenhagen.
I’ll be around the edges of Xtech in Paris, mainly trying to tick off as many bread, cake, chocolate, ice cream and meat parlours as possible. My list, compiled mainly from the excellent The Girl Who Ate Everything (probably my favourite weblog), David Lebowitz, the Amateur Gourmet and Jeffrey Steingarten is on Google My Maps. Unfortunately, Google Maps couldn’t find several interesting places, but there’s enough there to get a good start on. I also included many places from this comprehensive list of vegetarian restaurants in Paris.
I’m also starting to get practice in for one of the few talks I’m giving this year – and I’m very excited, as it’s my first food talk. And, stupidly enough, I’ll be cooking at the same time. Eeeek. Interesting2007 has a great lineup, but unfortunately it’s already sold out. I’ve been told there will definitely be videos and maybe even a live stream. As if it wasn’t scary enough with just 300 people.
I came to your page through megnut, pulled in by the map of Parisian eats, and was surprised to find that you used my recommendations! :D Thanks for reading, I’m honored to be a favorite! And I am SOOOO JEALOUS! Please channel some of the euphoria you experience while eating all that bread, cake, chocolate, ice cream and meat to those of us not lucky enough to be in Paris. Good luck with your food talk!
If you’re into attending interesting and new conferences and talks, have a look at www.just-b.com/btween
might be just your thing.
Thanks for posting the link to the Paris restaurants, it’s a pain trying to research all the vege places sometimes :)
