the future of mobile gaming · 2005-10-16 15:39

Time to unleash my stealth mobile games application on the world – it is truly the next generation of tangible physical locative mobile play. It’s autumn, it’s mobile conkers. Best of all, it’s compatible with most phones.*

Here it is ready for action:

Conkers isn’t just for autumn though, during the rest of the year you can play Reverse Mobile Conkers Extreme, where the cost of losing is slightly higher…

You know, I really should have made a conkers winner counter app and sold it.

* Not all phones have a strappu hole. In this case, a swift excursion with a small drill can make your phone compatible with Mobile Conkers. Warning: strappu holes are far far less sturdy than the cheap plastic of the phone may imply.

hahahahahahaha. It’s the perfect game for mobiles. We’re in the process of making a super simple, serious/not-serious-at-all bluetooth conkers game for mobiles. It’s should be done by the end of next week, if the girl who is doing the programming can get enough time off from her bar job. I’m glad yours is the “embodied interaction” version, because when i read “mobile conkers” on bloglines i thought “oh no, she’s done all that work so far, and now someone’s done it already.”

The worst thing is that I came up with this last autumn, bought all the required tools, and then it took a year for me to spend the 5 minutes actually assembling and taking the photos. Can’t wait to see the real virtual mobile conkers!

Reverse Mobile Conkers Extreme—Great idea! I’m undecided as to whether to bake my P800, versus soak it in vinegar. Any advice? Or would that be cheating?
